More than 20 dead in the clash between the Jukuns(indigenes) and the Muslims. This news goes against what is being reported by the popular media under the title "Fulani herdsmen kill 15 in Taraba".

The attack started since Wednesday 16th April and it is still going on.
According to our source; Kingsley Andrew, who happened to reside in Wukari and witnessed the attacks,
"The trouble broke out between the indigenes of the place(Wukari in Taraba State) when they were attacked selectively by some Muslims for unknown reasons. They retaliated but the situation intensified as some Nigerian Soldiers who happened to be the first to rush to the scene of the incident took sides with the Muslims in killing and maiming a lot of Jukuns and others. This is surprising as the soldiers were expected to solve the problem but unfortunately majority of them were Muslims as well. Nevertheless, when another set of troops arrived, there was a face off between them and the soldiers that arrived previously. That led many people to take refuge wherever they can until the situation is calm but we still hear gunshots here and there."
We were made to understand that the wife of the Taraba state Governor; Dr. Mrs. Hauwa Danbaba Suntai was caught up in the middle of the fight but has since been rescued by a group of soldiers. The situation is still deteriorating and we expect a rise in the death toll as many has not been reported yet.
